North Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denies the U.S. allegations of North Korea's "cyber threat"
ME News Report, May 5 (UTC+8), North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson on May 3 responded to questions from reporters regarding the U.S. hyping up the so-called North Korean “cyber threat,” stating that U.S. government agencies, media, and related organizations have recently attempted to spread false perceptions of North Korea to the international community, linking cyber-related frauds worldwide to North Korea. The spokesperson said it is unreasonable for the U.S. to portray itself as a “victim” and accused the U.S. of using its control over global IT infrastructure to carry out indiscriminate cyberattacks on other countries. He also stated that the media hype around the so-called “cyber threat” is a continuation of the U.S. hostile policy toward North Korea, aimed at spreading false information for political purposes and damaging North Korea’s image. The spokesperson said North Korea will protect cyberspace from malicious activities and opposes using cyber issues as political tools to infringe on sovereignty and interfere in internal affairs. North Korea will not tolerate hostile forces’ confrontational attempts, including in cyberspace, and will take necessary measures to safeguard national interests and citizens’ rights. (Source: PANews)
