ME News message: On April 15 (UTC+8), according to multiple people familiar with the matter, Anthropic has recently received investment intents from several venture capital firms, with valuations as high as $800 billion—more than double its current valuation. For hot startups, it is not unusual to receive investors’ “early/first-arrival quotes.” Companies often choose to refuse. However, these quotes also reflect strong demand in Silicon Valley to invest in Anthropic, especially as the company may be preparing to launch an IPO later this year. An Anthropic spokesperson declined to comment.

In February this year, Anthropic completed a funding round led by GIC and Coatue, with a valuation of $380 billion—less than half of the $852 billion valuation reached in OpenAI’s funding last month. On the secondary market platform Caplight, Anthropic’s valuation is about $688 billion, up by roughly 75% over three months.

Investors and entrepreneurs have been impressed by Anthropic’s rapid growth and the momentum of its AI programming assistant, Claude Code. Last week, Anthropic announced that its annualized revenue has risen to $30 billion, a significant increase from $9 billion at the end of last year. In addition, Anthropic also released its latest model, Mythos, and said that due to potential network-attack risks, the model will not be made available to the public for now. (Source: BlockBeats)
