I've been thinking about this for a while and I believe it's worth sharing: creating free cryptocurrency or with a limited budget is more accessible than many think.
Look, if you want to launch your own token, the first thing you need to do is choose where to build it. You don't have to reinvent the wheel. Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Avalanche... each has its own dynamics. Ethereum is the most established but the fees can be high. Solana is fast but you need to consider its security. Cardano offers a more academic approach. The important thing is to analyze what you need: transaction speed, security, developer community, operational costs.
Next comes the design. You have to decide on the name, symbol, total supply of tokens. But here’s the interesting part: you also need to choose how your network will operate. Proof of Work or Proof of Stake? PoW is traditional, miners solve problems and earn rewards, but it consumes a lot of energy. PoS is more efficient, validators stake their coins to validate transactions. Most new projects today opt for PoS.
Then there's the distribution aspect. How does your cryptocurrency reach people? You can do pre-mining, airdrops, ICOs. Each model has different implications for your community and the perception of the project.
Now, if you're not a programmer, here comes the reality: you'll need to hire help or learn. Development involves writing code, creating the blockchain, ensuring everything works. It’s not trivial, but it’s not impossible if you have resources.
Before launching publicly, test everything thoroughly. Test consensus, transactions, security. Any mistake here can be costly.
Once you trust your project, launch it. It can be through a cryptocurrency exchange or direct distribution to users.
My final advice: first, be clear about why your cryptocurrency exists. What problem does it solve? Why would someone use it instead of others? Second, build community from the start. A token without a community is just code. Third, communicate well. People need to understand what you're doing. And fourth, be realistic: creating free or low-budget cryptocurrency is possible, but building something successful requires time, persistence, and strategy.
The technical part is one thing, but the real challenge is getting your project traction. That’s what separates forgotten tokens from those that truly generate value.
