Grayscale Unveils 6 Main Protocols Competing for the $300 Trillion RWA Market
Latest research from Grayscale published on Saturday (2/5) predicts that the massive migration of capital markets to blockchain will be one of the biggest infrastructure shifts in the history of the financial system. Grayscale has identified six major protocols that will serve as the foundation for this migration: Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Canton, BNB Chain, and Chainlink. These six assets are considered to have architectures capable of processing capital formation and transferring risk digitally more efficiently.
At present, competition is led by institutional networks such as Canton, which manages assets worth $348 billion. However, Grayscale sees significant potential for public networks such as Ethereum and Solana to take over in the long term as privacy technologies mature. Meanwhile, Avalanche (AVAX) has been praised as a successful hybrid solution that has attracted major institutional interest such as Citi and Apollo Global thanks to its technological flexibility.
Regardless of who will dominate the base layer, Grayscale names Chainlink (LINK) as the most stable player due to its role as a cross-blockchain data provider. The economic value of this megatrend is projected to continue flowing into the native tokens of these protocols as demand for block space for the growing tokenization of RWA increases by 217% year-over-year.
