Just realized a lot of people still get confused about setting up their BEP-20 wallet address, so figured I'd share what I've learned from doing this multiple times.
Basically, if you're moving tokens around on BNB Chain, you need to understand that every blockchain has its own token standard. Ethereum has ERC-20, and BNB Chain uses BEP-20. It's the same concept, just different networks. The thing is, your regular Ethereum wallet won't automatically show your BEP-20 wallet address unless you specifically configure it.
I use Metamask mostly, and honestly it's pretty straightforward once you know what you're doing. First thing is just logging in and then switching your network. You'll see a dropdown at the top left where it shows which chain you're on. If BNB Chain isn't listed, you'll need to manually add it. Don't worry, it's just entering a few details like the Chain ID (which is 56 for BNB) and the RPC URL. Once that's set up, you go back and select BNB Chain from that dropdown. Then to actually find your BEP-20 wallet address, you click the account details option and boom, there it is. You'll see the address and a QR code you can use to receive tokens.
Trust Wallet is another solid option if you prefer something different. The mobile app is actually pretty clean for this. You'd add the BNB Chain the same way, search for BNB, and when you click receive, your BEP-20 wallet address shows up. The browser extension version is a bit different layout-wise, but the logic is identical. You're clicking through to manage networks, adding the custom chain details, then selecting it and finding your address.
Honestly, once you've done it once, setting up a BEP-20 wallet address becomes second nature. The key thing is just making sure you're on the right network before sending anything. I've seen people send tokens to the wrong address format and it gets messy. So yeah, take the extra 30 seconds to confirm you're actually on BNB Chain and have the correct BEP-20 wallet address ready before moving funds around.
