Lawyer representing terror attack victims applies to freeze 30k ETH on Arbitrum
Techub News reports that the lawyers representing victims of North Korean terror attacks have issued a New York restraining order against Arbitrum DAO, seeking to freeze 30,765 ETH locked in the rsETH vulnerability. The lawyer claims that since Lazarus Group has been identified as responsible for the attack, these funds are considered North Korean state property and should be seized to satisfy a historical judgment totaling approximately $877 million. These funds originate from the rsETH bridge vulnerability of Kelp DAO on April 19, 2026, which was the largest DeFi security incident of that year. The plaintiffs involve three historical judgments: the 1972 Lod Airport massacre, the 2000 Kim Dong-sik kidnapping case, and the 2006 Israel-Hezbollah war. Currently, Arbitrum representatives are weighing whether to return the funds to depositors or cooperate with federal law enforcement actions.
