ME News report: On April 9 (UTC+8), local time April 8 marked the first day after the temporary ceasefire between the US and Iran took effect. Since the Israel Defense Forces launched the largest airstrike in the current conflict with Hezbollah, Iran said it violated the ceasefire agreement, shut down the Strait of Hormuz again, and threatened to prepare deterrent action against Israeli military targets. On the 8th, the White House announced that the first round of US-Iran talks would be held in Pakistan on the 11th, but Iran said that three of the 10 key ceasefire clauses had been violated and that the “basis for negotiations” had been undermined.
