ME News Report, April 9 (UTC+8), Wednesday, a federal appellate court in Washington, D.C. dismissed Anthropic’s request for a temporary halt on the Department of Defense’s attempt to blacklist the company. Currently, the company is filing a lawsuit against this sanction. Previously, a judge in the San Francisco federal court issued a preliminary injunction at the end of last month in another related case, prohibiting the Trump administration from enforcing the ban on the use of Anthropic’s Claude AI model. The appellate court stated in its ruling: “We believe that the fair balance in this case favors the government.” “On one hand, the risk of economic loss to a private company is relatively small; on the other hand, during military conflicts, how and through whom the Department of Defense acquires critical AI technology requires judicial oversight. Therefore, we deny Anthropic’s motion for a stay pending review of the substantive issues of the case.” (Source: BlockBeats)
