ME News report: On April 9 (UTC+8), the White House press secretary Levit said at a press briefing on Wednesday local time that Iran has indicated it will transfer its uranium enrichment stockpile, calling it one of Trump’s top priorities. Trump said that one of the main reasons for initiating war is to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, and that Iran has long denied any intention to do so.

At the briefing, Levit said, “This is a red line the president will never give in on, and he is committed to ensuring this is carried out.” When asked whether Iran has indicated it will transfer uranium, Levit replied, “Yes, they have said so.” However, she did not disclose specific details.

IAEA Director General Grossi said that nearly half of Iran’s enriched uranium, with the highest enrichment level reaching 60%, is stored in a tunnel facility complex in Isfahan, and that this uranium is very likely still there. The tunnel facility complex was the only target that appeared to have not been severely damaged in the June last year U.S.-Israel strikes against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Hegseth previously said, “It is currently buried underground, and we are closely monitoring it. We are fully aware of what they have, and they know that themselves.” He also said that, if necessary, Washington reserves the right to launch further military strikes to destroy these enriched uranium.
