This guy stole 50,000+ Bitcoin and got away with it for almost 10 years, then got caught because he accidentally called the police on himself💀

Back in 2012, James Zhong (22 at the time) found a simple glitch in Silk Road’s withdrawal system
He kept spamming the withdraw button faster than the system could keep up
He made fake vendor accounts, deposited small amounts, then triggered withdrawals repeatedly
The site bugged out and sent him way more Bitcoin than he actually had, he did this over 140+ transactions and cashed out 50K+ Bitcoin, worth only $600K back then, but today? BILLIONS
After that, he disappeared, for nearly a decade, nobody knew who did it, he didn’t spend loudly like most would
Lived lowkey luxury, hotels, designer shopping, Tesla, parties, even had a stripper pole at home 💀
But most of the BTC? untouched, then he messed up, in 2019, he literally called 911 saying someone stole crypto from him
That’s what got law enforcement looking at him, IRS traced the coins on chain and connected everything back to Silk Road
In 2021, they raided his house and found: 50,000+ Bitcoin hidden in a floor safe, more Bitcoin on a tiny computer inside a popcorn tin , $600K+ cash, gold, silver, physical BTC coins
He pleaded guilty in 2022, and in 2023?, he got only 1 year and 1 day in prison and lost everything
Over 51,000 BTC seized craziest part: he pulled off one of the biggest crypto heists ever with a button spam glitch and got caught years later, because he called the police on himself
