Federal Reserve Meeting Minutes: Some officials worry that Iran war could slow down the inflation process
ME News Report, April 9th (UTC+8), the third week of the Iran conflict, coincides with the Federal Reserve holding a meeting, where a group of officials are concerned that this conflict could prolong the duration of high inflation. These officials discussed how the war has driven up energy prices, and that a prolonged war could lead to inflation in more categories. The March meeting minutes show: “Due to these factors, the vast majority of participants indicated that the process of achieving the Committee’s 2% inflation target could be slower than previously expected.” (Source: Jin10)
