Just saw Arkham's latest report on Vitalik Buterin's ethereum owner net worth - they're estimating it at around $833 million, which is pretty wild when you think about it. The guy's been holding since ETH launched back in 2015, and his stack is sitting at roughly 245,278 tokens. What's interesting is that he actually hit billionaire status for a hot minute in 2021 when ethereum was pumping above $3k. Now with prices where they are, his holdings are worth less on paper, but still massive.
The report breaks down that most of his wealth comes from those early ethereum holdings, plus some other crypto positions like StarkNet investments and tokens like KNCL and WETH. What caught my attention though - they mention his ethereum owner net worth is probably conservative. There could be undisclosed holdings or non-crypto assets they're not counting. Also noticed that compared to other major ETH holders, Vitalik stands out as the top individual holder, though exchanges and institutions obviously control way more.
One thing the report emphasizes is that his holdings have actually decreased over time, partly from sales and the network's inflationary design. But he's kept it under 0.9% of total supply, which tracks with what he's said before. Makes you wonder how much of his wealth strategy is just staying diversified versus holding for the long game.
