Nick Timiraos: Federal Reserve officials worry that the pace of inflation easing is slower than expected

ME News Report, April 9 (UTC+8), “The Fed’s mouthpiece” Nick Timiraos stated that the Federal Reserve meeting minutes show that “the vast majority” of officials believe the pace of inflation easing may be slower than expected, mainly due to three interconnected concerns: the impact of tariffs on commodity prices may take longer to subside; the transmission effect of oil prices on core inflation; and years of inflation rates above the target level, making inflation expectations more susceptible to new shocks.
