Iranian President: The key to ending the war is Lebanon achieving a ceasefire
ME News Report, April 9 (UTC+8). Iranian President Pezeshkian spoke by phone with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz. Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran accepts Pakistan’s ceasefire proposal, despite the United States having violated its commitments and trampled international law on multiple occasions in the past. This reflects Iran’s responsible, firm, and resolute stance. Countries in the region and around the world should seize this opportunity to put pressure on the aggressor and prevent it from repeating its past mistakes. Pezeshkian stressed that the premise for Iran’s position is that the other side truly adheres to the principles of negotiations and fulfills its own obligations. Pezeshkian also condemned multiple violations of the ceasefire, including attacks on Iran’s Lavan Island and Sīrī Island on the morning of the 8th, saying that Iran will respond decisively to any act of aggression.
