Abstract generation in progress

ME News report: On May 2 (UTC+8), the Minnesota State Legislature in the United States passed a bill banning websites and apps from providing AI tools that can generate realistic fake nude images of identifiable individuals, and the bill has been submitted to Governor Tim Walz for signing. The bill requires platforms to not allow users to use or facilitate the use of “clothing removal” generation tools, and advertising and promotion of related services are also prohibited. Victims may sue the operators for actual damages and receive up to triple damages, as well as punitive damages. The state attorney general may impose civil fines of up to $500,000 per violation, and the fines will be used to support services for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, and child abuse. If signed, the new law will take effect on August 1 and will only apply to cases newly occurring after that date. (Source: PANews)
