UK Reform Party leader Farage is accused of having a conflict of interest, having received a 5 million pound donation before promoting a crypto tax reduction proposal.
ME News, May 2 (UTC+8): UK Reform Party leader Farage was accused by the opposition of having a conflict of interest. In 2024, he received a personal grant of 5 million pounds from crypto investor Christopher Harborne. Subsequently, in 2025, the Reform Party put forward a crypto industry regulatory draft, proposing to cut the crypto transaction stamp duty from 24% to 10%, and to establish a national Bitcoin reserve and reduce capital gains tax on crypto assets. Farage has admitted to receiving the above-mentioned grant, and the Reform Party said that policy-making is not related to the donors. In addition, Harborne donated another 12 million pounds to the party last year, and crypto businessman Ben Delo also donated 4 million pounds this year.
