ZachXBT criticizes U.S. law firms for pursuing Lazarus's frozen assets, hindering KelpDAO victims from recovering funds
Wu said that, according to court documents disclosed by PaperImperium, a U.S. law firm has issued a restraining order against Arbitrum DAO, demanding the seizure of its frozen Lazarus Group hacker funds to enforce a 2015 historic case ruling against North Korea.
The restraining order is expected to complicate Arbitrum’s plan to return approximately 30,766 ETH (about $71 million) to the Kelp attack victims.
On-chain investigator ZachXBT later posted criticizing the law firm’s “predatory” behavior, claiming that they have long exploited on-chain security researchers’ tracking results, and after the North Korean hacker funds were frozen, they attempted to claim compensation under the guise of an unrelated North Korean case from decades ago, aiming to seize funds that should belong to crypto project victims.
