CryptoWire news: a batch of Ethereum wallets that had been inactive for a long time were recently emptied in bulk. The associated funds flowed into an address that Etherscan has labeled as (fake_phishing2831105). CryptoSlate said more than 500 wallets are suspected to be affected, with total losses of approximately $800,000—of which more than 260 ETH and about $600,000 have already been transferred. Many wallets have been dormant for 4 to 8 years. The relevant addresses show 596 transactions and, around April 30, transferred 324.741 ETH to Thorchain Router v4.1.1. As of now, the attack path has not been confirmed, and it may involve risks related to old private keys, seed phrases, historical wallet tools, or key management.
