I recently came across an interesting project called Mao Dao, which is developing under the wing of Hash Global. I liked the essence of the project at first glance — it’s an attempt to build a true home for the Chinese community in Web3.
From what I understand, Mao Dao is divided into two directions. On one side, it’s a platform aiming to become a hub for Chinese in the crypto space, a place where they can feel at home. On the other side, it’s a fan club focused on KOLs from the entertainment sector, trying to solve the problem of managing a private audience.
This, by the way, draws attention to an important point. The team believes that for mass adoption of Web3 in China, products must be user-independent, not tied to digital currencies, and have a single identifier for network navigation. It sounds logical when you think about the barriers currently standing in the way of adoption.
As for the current state, Mao Dao has already completed registration of several dozen participants, redesigned the website, and is actively developing an internal platform. The project is clearly looking for practical use cases for Web3 teams that have already invested in this area. It’s an interesting experiment, and I will be watching how Mao Dao develops further.
