I have been testing various apps to mine cryptocurrencies for free on my phone, and honestly, there are more options than I thought. It’s not that I’m going to become a millionaire, but it’s interesting to see how these tools work.
The most well-known remains CryptoTab, which basically uses your phone’s power to generate hashes. You install it, activate mining, and that’s it, it starts working. Some say inviting others also helps increase earnings, although honestly, the numbers are not spectacular.
Then there are cloud mining apps, which work differently. Instead of your phone doing the heavy lifting, you rent computing power. NiceHash is quite popular for this, especially because it has a profitability calculator that shows you exactly how much you could earn. The interface is clear, and security is decent if you enable two-factor authentication.
StormGain is also on many people’s radar. The interface is user-friendly, and the storage of cryptocurrencies seems secure, but it has a limitation: it needs to be restarted every 4 hours, which can be annoying if you want it to run uninterrupted.
Bitdeer is another option I see quite often, especially among more serious users. It offers different plans based on your investment and access to professional infrastructure, although it requires a higher initial capital.
The truth is, mobile mining has its pros and cons. Some believe it’s not worth it due to competition and fraud risks. Others see potential, especially considering how it could evolve with better hardware. The important thing is not to rush and to test before investing real money.
If you want to start on Android, the process is simple: choose a free cryptocurrency mining app, install it, create an account, set up your wallet, and that’s it. On iPhone, it’s more complicated due to Apple’s restrictions, so most people use cloud mining apps.
According to what I see in communities, the easiest coins to mine in 2026 are still Monero (XMR), Dogecoin (DOGE), Vertcoin (VTC), and Ravencoin (RVN). But the cost of electricity in your area and the current price of each crypto also influence this.
One thing they forget to mention: mining 1 Bitcoin from a smartphone takes an average of 10 minutes of real computing power, but your phone doesn’t have that power. That’s why most end up using cloud services. If you really want to mine, you need specialized equipment or rely on these platforms.
So if you’re looking for an app to mine cryptocurrencies for free, you have several viable options. Just remember to review the terms of each platform, as they change frequently. And most importantly: don’t invest more than you can afford to lose.
