Maersk will not resume the Hormuz route for now
ME News message: On April 8 (UTC+8), Denmark’s Maersk Shipping Company said that the ceasefire announced by the United States and Iran is not yet sufficient to ensure the safety of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. The company said it is taking a cautious stance toward the current situation and will not resume the routes that were suspended last month. In a statement, Maersk said that although a two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran could create opportunities for navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, maritime security still faces uncertainties, and the related conditions attached to the ceasefire need to be understood. The company said it will continue to closely monitor developments and will provide timely updates on the latest progress within the next few hours to days based on how the situation evolves. “Any decisions regarding the Strait of Hormuz are based on ongoing risk assessments, close monitoring of the security situation, and guidance from relevant authorities and partners.” (Source: ODAILY)
