Hungary, China's old friend, has seen its former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán step down after 20 years in power. The new Prime Minister, Peter Marki-Zay, who is set to take office in mid-May, announced that he will immediately cancel the state media, as it is considered to be spreading lies.

Differences in political ideology:
Orbán (Fidesz): Pro-Russia, pro-China, concentrates power, controls the national propaganda machine, implements non-liberal democracy, emphasizes national sovereignty and a tough stance against immigration.
Marki-Zay (Tisza): Pro-EU, pragmatic and pro-Western, focuses on anti-corruption and media reform, maintains a tough immigration policy but advocates for the rule of law, independent institutions, and normal relations with Europe.
