Someone asked me how to manage fragmented multi-chain wallet assets without getting messy. To be honest, I don’t have any clever tricks; I just stick to a principle: open as few gaps as possible, move as little as possible. Mainly use one “storage wallet” that rarely signs transactions, and for daily interactions, use two or three “work wallets.” Keep only enough for one or two weeks’ worth of activity on each chain, and regularly consolidate the rest back, like cleaning up trash, or it’ll just get more and more annoying.
Also, don’t be fooled into thinking that large on-chain transfers or hot and cold wallets on exchanges are “smart money” leading the rhythm. I used to get itchy and follow along, but I realized that what’s more important is whether I can clearly explain: why this money is on this chain, when it might move, and whether I’ll forget once it moves. Anyway, I now prefer to bother and add a note, rather than one day flipping through my wallet like rummaging through a drawer for keys… That’s all for now.
