Just saw Apple dropped the M4 iPad Air and honestly the specs are pretty solid for the price point. They bumped up the memory to 12GB, which is a nice jump from before, and you're looking at 30% faster performance compared to the M3. The 599 starting price stayed the same which is kind of surprising given the upgrades.
What caught my attention is the new connectivity chips they added - apparently Wi-Fi 7 and faster 5G are finally making their way into the Air line. The 16-core Neural Engine is there too if you care about AI stuff on tablets. You get the choice between 11-inch or 13-inch, with the bigger one at 799. Pre-orders opened back in March if I'm remembering right.
Not sure if it's worth upgrading from M3, but for anyone looking to grab an iPad Air fresh, the 599 entry price seems reasonable for what you're getting now. The memory bump alone makes it feel like a more legit productivity device.
