JPX CEO: Japan expects to list cryptocurrency ETFs as early as next year

Golden Finance reports that on April 30th, the Japan Exchange Group stated that if legal revisions permit, cryptocurrency-tracking exchange-traded funds could potentially be listed as early as next year. Tokyo Stock Exchange operator JPX CEO Hiromi Yamaji said, “Asset management companies have shown strong interest in creating cryptocurrency ETF products. Once legislation and tax treatment are clarified, we are ready to start this work.”
JPX also believes that if progress is delayed, the listing could be postponed until 2028.
