Just found out my dog can actually eat oranges and I've been missing out on this. Apparently they're packed with vitamin C, fiber, calcium and all that good stuff—basically the same nutrients that make them healthy for us. Been giving my pup orange slices as treats and he seems to love them, especially on hot days since oranges are like 90% water.

But here's the thing: you gotta be careful about portions. Only 1 to 3 slices max per day, and it should only make up like 10% of their overall diet. Too much can mess with their stomach and cause GI upset. Also, never give them the peel or seeds—those have toxins that aren't good for dogs at all. Fresh orange is the way to go, not the canned stuff with added sugar.

I asked my vet about it first because apparently some dogs with diabetes shouldn't have oranges due to the sugar content. But for most dogs, it's actually a solid alternative to regular treats. Puppies can have small bites too, but you gotta introduce it slowly so their digestive system doesn't freak out. Honestly, if your dog's been stuck eating the same boring treats, throwing in some orange segments might actually be a game-changer. Anyone else's dog obsessed with citrus fruits?
