Just saw that Rich Steinmeier, the CEO of LPL Financial, presented at the Bank of America Securities Financial Services Conference back in February. The guy was talking about the company's wealth management operations and where things are headed.

What caught my eye is the scale they're operating at - we're talking about $1.7 trillion in assets under management for roughly 6 million Americans. They've got nearly 29,000 financial advisors in their network too. That's a pretty significant footprint in the wealth management space.

Rich Steinmeier highlighted their advisor-focused business model and how they're positioning themselves as this tech-enabled platform for financial institutions. The whole presentation was streamed live, so it's all pretty transparent about their operations and strategy.

It's interesting how these big wealth management firms keep expanding their reach. LPL seems to be playing the long game here with their advisor partnerships and institutional relationships.
