just realized how much i've been overpaying for gas lol. been hitting random stations for years without checking prices first, which is honestly dumb. if you're trying to actually save money on how to find cheapest gas, there are some solid apps that do the heavy lifting for you. GasBuddy and Waze both show prices at nearby stations so you can skip the expensive ones. Google Maps also displays gas prices if you search for stations. even Geico has a gas finder tool on their site, which is kind of random but actually useful. the key thing though - don't drive around hunting for cheaper gas. sounds obvious but people do it all the time and waste more fuel than they save. bigger picture stuff: if you fill up a lot, Costco or Sam's Club memberships can actually pay for themselves with their discounted gas. rewards programs at gas stations give you a few cents off per gallon too. and honestly, just planning your errands better so you're not making random trips helps way more than you'd think. also if you're using a credit card for gas, get one with actual cash back rewards. some cards give like 5% back which adds up fast. anyway, the whole point is just check prices before you go instead of winging it. saves way more than you'd expect over time.
