Just found out that is cucumber good for dogs? Apparently yes, and honestly I had no idea. Been giving my pup some cucumber slices as treats and a vet confirmed they're totally safe. Super low calorie too, which is great since my dog could use a healthier snack option. The thing is cucumber good for dogs because it's mostly water, so it keeps them hydrated especially in summer. Plus they get potassium and minerals from it. The key thing though is moderation - treats should only be like 10% of their daily calories, and you gotta cut them into bite-sized pieces so they don't choke. I was removing seeds too just to be safe. Apparently cucumber skin is fine as long as you wash it first to get rid of pesticides. One cup of sliced cucumber is only about 15 calories, so honestly is cucumber good for dogs as a weight management snack? Definitely. My vet said it's way better than those high-calorie treats. Might switch more of my dog's treats to fruits and veggies now.
