Many people ask me why I actually don’t like celebrating my birthday.
The reason actually started a long time ago.
Since third grade in elementary school, the class would write down the birthday star of the month, but I gradually realized that everyone’s gifts were actually paid for by their parents. If there are many birthday stars in a month, it can become a pressure for everyone.
So from that time on, anyone who has known me long enough should know—
I only accept handwritten cards.
No matter if the handwriting is pretty or not, I love it.
You could even say it’s more precious than any gift.
I have a very deep impression that after third grade in elementary school, every birthday, my desk was almost covered with cards. I would collect each one carefully.
Later on, whether it was friends or romantic partners, I insisted on one thing:
Always handwrite a card.
After entering the workforce, everyone was working, and it gradually became—like no one really needed anything, and I didn’t seem to need anything either 🤣
It became very hard to give gifts.
So now I’m actually very simple,
Just a good meal makes me very satisfied.
But I’m on a diet now, so I don’t eat, haha.
