Stanford Annual Report: AI usage in emerging market workplaces exceeds 80%, Southeast Asia is the most optimistic, and India's anxiety increase is the fastest globally

ME News Report, April 14 (UTC+8), according to 1M AI News monitoring, by 2025, 58% of employees worldwide will have semi-regular or regular use of AI at work. The Stanford 2026 AI Index report shows that in India, China, Nigeria, the UAE, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, this percentage exceeds 80%, higher than most developed countries. Regionally, Southeast Asia is the most optimistic: Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore have over 80% of respondents believing that AI will profoundly change life within 3 to 5 years, with Malaysia showing the largest increase. Meanwhile, in India, AI anxiety increased by 14 percentage points within a year, while excitement only rose by 2 percentage points, making the increase in anxiety the largest globally.
