Lately, people in the group keep asking, “Why did the on-chain data lag for a moment? Is it about to blow up?” Honestly, a lot of the time it’s not that the chain is broken—it’s that the indexer/subgraph can’t keep up, or the RPC is being rate-limited. When you refresh your balance, check NFTs, or look up transaction records, someone has to take the raw blocks and “organize” them into a format you can search. When things get busy, queues build up, and if the interface suddenly glitches, it feels like the internet speed drops out of nowhere.

When attention gets flooded in—like with Memes or celebrity shoutout calls—everyone spams queries, and the lag becomes even more obvious. Newcomers may also think, “If I wait a second, I’ll miss my chance,” and then go try to take the final run.

Anyway, on my side I’d rather be slower: for key actions, use a hardware wallet and confirm the address twice, so I don’t get shaky hands from some fleeting “Loading…” message. The vibe in the group chat is also fine—we just remind each other quickly; there’s no need to rush into arguments.
