Crypto World news: At a press conference, U.S. Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell said that after he steps down as chair, he will continue to serve as a Federal Reserve governor for “a period of time.” He noted that over the past three months, the Federal Reserve has suffered an unprecedented blow and is determined to defend the Federal Reserve’s independence. Powell made it clear that the “blow” he referred to was not political criticism, but only legal proceedings. He said, “The events of the past three months have left me with no choice but to stay on.” He said that unless the Federal Inspector General moves for criminal referral, the Department of Justice will not launch another investigation into him. Powell was not satisfied with this, and pledged to “keep a low profile.”
