Deep Tide TechFlow News. On April 29, according to a disclosure on the official website of the Ethereum Foundation, its Ecosystem Support Program (ESP) provided a total of $9.856 million in the first quarter of 2026, with funding concentrated on core infrastructure areas such as cryptography, zero-knowledge proofs, security audits, and protocol research.
Key funded projects this quarter include: in the ZK track, formal verification for zkVM, GPU-accelerated R1CS witness generation, and optimization of LLZK intermediate representations; in the security track, Poseidon cryptography analysis, ERC-7730 cross-platform signature clearing library and ePBS standard compliance testing; in the node and client track, expansion of Erigon zkEVM, Besu HSM compliance integration, and multi-node validator Vero. In addition, it also covers privacy tools (Kohaku SDK, Tor bridge extension), ongoing operations of the Layer 2 transparency platform L2BEAT, and transition R&D for a Lighthouse client to the Fusaka fork.
In terms of ecosystem development, in the same period ESP supported Ethereum developer events in Seoul, Hong Kong, Vancouver, Buenos Aires, and other places, and advanced updates to Ethereum’s climate impact assessment and policy research projects with the European Decentralized Institute (EDI).
