UBS Group collaborates with multiple banks to launch the Swiss franc stablecoin sandbox

ME News message: On April 8 (UTC+8), UBS announced that it, together with PostFinance, Sygnum, Raiffeisen Bank Central Austria, Zurich Cantonal Bank (ZKB), and Banque de Commerce et de Placements (BCV), has jointly established Swiss Stablecoin AG to test specific application scenarios for a Swiss franc stablecoin in a secure digital sandbox environment. The sandbox is based on an initial list of potential use cases that is currently under co-development. The technical infrastructure for issuing the stablecoin is provided by Swiss Stablecoin AG. The sandbox will run in 2026 and will be open to other banks, companies, and institutions interested in participating in the development of the Swiss franc stablecoin. (Source: Foresight News)
