I just saw that Brad Garlinghouse, the CEO of Ripple, addressed a topic that has been sparking debate in the XRP community for years. During his participation in the conference held recently in Sydney, he made one thing clear: there is no single magical moment when everything suddenly changes.
What’s interesting is how Garlinghouse explained that Ripple has been working with hundreds, even thousands, of small switches being turned on simultaneously. Each one alone may seem minor, but together they create an accumulated impact that eventually becomes exponential. It’s as if he said that people have been waiting for a single transformative event, when in reality, the strategy has always been different.
For those who don’t follow closely: the phrase 'flip the switch' has been around for years. In 2019, Garlinghouse mentioned in Fortune that banks were ready to move from pilot tests to real implementation with XRP. That was enough for the community to interpret that one day, overnight, everything would explode. But according to his recent message, that was never the plan.
What he did confirm is that Ripple has been activating those smaller switches over time. He mentioned that since 2023, the company invested around 3 billion dollars in acquisitions precisely to connect the traditional financial system with DeFi. Each partnership, each integration, each small step counts as another switch being turned on.
Garlinghouse was quite optimistic when talking about 2026 and beyond. His point is that when everything finally appears exponential, people will probably realize it wasn’t due to a single event, but rather years of steady work accumulating. He also highlighted the role of the community: holders who correct information, fight FUD, and actively express themselves—this also counts as part of the process.
Currently, XRP is trading near $1.38 with interesting volume. I don’t know if this is the moment when everything converges, but what’s clear is that Ripple plays a long-term game; it’s not waiting for a miraculous switch to turn on. It’s more about consistency than a dramatic inflection point. That’s quite different from what many imagined years ago.
