I find the Cashtags feature that X recently started is pretty interesting. Just by tapping the ticker, real-time prices for Bitcoin or stocks show up, and it seems you can trade right from there as well. It feels like an environment is coming together where you can look at news and information about crypto assets and buy and sell immediately.

It seems that in Canada, it’s integrated with Wealthsimple, so you can jump directly to the investment app. There hasn’t been a rollout in Japan or other countries yet, but maybe integrating financial tools like this is becoming a trend. X Money, a remittance service, has also been around for a while, and the fact that X is aiming for “all apps” feels pretty serious.

I think the concept of using the same platform to wrap things up—from information to trading—for both crypto assets and TradFi isn’t bad. User reactions also seem to be positive, and when I see this news coming through, it makes me feel that competition among financial platforms is getting even more intense.
