a16z Report: AI Agents Have Limited Success Rate in DeFi Vulnerability Detection

AIMPACT News, April 29 (UTC+8), AIMPACT News, April 29 (UTC+8), According to the latest research report released by a16z crypto, their research team tested the vulnerability detection and autonomous exploitation capabilities of AI agents in the DeFi field. The experimental results show that under no prior knowledge conditions, the agents successfully obtained transaction records by calling the Etherscan API with an initial success rate of 50%; after injecting structured domain knowledge, the success rate increased to 70%, but did not reach 100%. a16z summarized that AI agents can assist in identifying vulnerabilities and generating simple PoCs, but they still cannot replace professional security personnel for complex attacks.
