AWS partners with OpenAI GPT-5.4 Preview debuts on Bedrock for the first time

AIMPACT News, April 29 (UTC+8), AWS CEO Matt Garman and OpenAI Chief Revenue Officer Denise Dresser jointly announced at the closed-door “What’s Next with AWS” meeting in San Francisco: GPT-5.4 is now in preview on AWS Bedrock, GPT-5.5 is upcoming, and a new jointly developed Bedrock Managed Agents product has been released. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman sent a video message for the keynote speech, praising Amazon as “a key partner for the future.”
This launch marks the first time OpenAI’s main models are available on AWS. According to lawsuit documents, Amazon is actually the first major cloud provider to collaborate with OpenAI. Garman, who joined Amazon in 2005, revealed that the two sides have been advancing this partnership over the past six to nine months.
Elon Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI is currently being tried in Oakland, with Musk’s legal team having made opening statements. The verdict in this case will impact OpenAI’s future.
