Yesterday, I was stuck in the mempool queue again, watching my transaction on the screen as if taking a number, with a bunch of people in front of me pushing higher gas prices to cut in line... You think clicking confirm is the end, but actually you’re just handing the little slip into the “waiting hall,” whether miners/validators pay attention to you depends on how congested it is at the time.

I used to be a bit obsessive, always saying “I only look at the on-chain,” watching for confirmation and obsessively checking the hash, feeling at ease only when it’s included in a block. Later, I realized I also need to pay attention to the sentiment: congestion usually isn’t for no reason, everyone rushes for the same window, and even if you stay calm, you’ll get squeezed and start doubting everything. Now I go slower, waiting for the mempool to turn from red back to normal before sending, preferring to be a little late rather than repeatedly paying for acceleration.

By the way, recently, modular and DA layer narrative developers have been having lively discussions, while users are basically asking: So why is my transfer still queuing? Anyway, I wait until the confirmation count is stable before acting, and I don’t mistake “on the way” for “successful.”
