Many people have actually lost the ability to feel happiness due to long-term lifestyle conditioning.

Every day, they go to work and come home, scrolling through their phones, looping like a program, struggling to earn a little money, only to immediately spend it on a bunch of unnecessary things.
You think that's consumption, but it's actually just a prearranged outlet;
what's even more ridiculous is that you are taught even "happiness," and you feel anxious even when you stop.
Once you're not busy, not scrolling, not buying, you start to feel uneasy, because you've long forgotten what you can still do.
So you can only keep scrolling, keep buying, keep busy—it's not that those things are so important, but that you can't live without the feeling of being filled.
