The happiest thing in life is to take the kids out for a wander. With ten thousand miles of mountains and rivers, there is scenery everywhere, but nothing compares to having a child by your side. Sometimes, have you noticed that when someone goes wandering alone—no matter how beautiful the scenery is—if there’s nobody to share it with, their heart still feels hollow. It doesn’t really count as true happiness. Only when you go somewhere, see beautiful scenery and interesting things, and tell your child about them right away—then that joy comes from the heart.

And when you listen to your child chattering away, sharing the scenery in their eyes and the little things that amuse them nearby, it becomes a two-way journey—meeting each other with love and healing one another. This kind of happiness of sharing with one another and resonating with each other is simple and steady, year after year, with peace. That is what makes the most precious, happiest moments in the world.
