ME News message: On April 8 (UTC+8), the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) filed an opinion with the federal court opposing Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm’s request to overturn the criminal charges. The DOJ argued that the latest Supreme Court ruling cited by Storm is unrelated to this case. Previously, Storm’s lawyer attempted to cite a civil case involving copyright infringement as grounds to dismiss the case. However, U.S. prosecutors said the legal context of that ruling is clearly different from the current criminal case and should not affect this case. Based on the current developments, the Roman Storm case may still proceed and enter the subsequent trial stage. (Source: ODAILY)
