I just saw on blockchain data that Vitalik sold a large amount of ETH to support the Ethereum Foundation and his biotech charity. It seems consistent with his pattern of donating for important causes. The sale reached 17,196 ETH valued at around $30-35 million, and his holdings decreased by 7% because of this. Interestingly, the money went directly to Kanro through CoW Protocol and Wintermute, exactly $500,000 USDC. He has been doing this for a while—remember the SHIB token donation for COVID relief in India in 2021? And in January, he donated another $2.5 million from meme tokens. His approach to liquidating assets for research and development initiatives seems really strategic. I see that even with the market declining and ETH price now around $2.32K, he continues to commit to research and biomedical work through Kanro. He has around $450M holdings in ETH and wrapped ETH, so he's not all-in on charitable giving. The types of research supported are focused on open-source biomedical innovations and existential risk mitigation. It’s like a balanced approach—maintaining significant holdings while actively funding critical initiatives. Just curious how many projects will benefit from this round of funding.
