ASML plans to increase EUV lithography machine production to 60 units by 2026 to meet AI chip demand

AIMPACT News, April 27 (UTC+8): ASML plans to produce at least 60 standard EUV lithography machines in 2026, up 36% from 2025, to meet AI chip demand. As the world’s only EUV lithography machine manufacturer, ASML expects full-year revenue to rise from roughly $38 billion last year to between $42 billion and $47 billion. Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet plan to invest more than $600 billion in AI this year, prompting chipmakers such as TSMC to accelerate spending and further increasing demand for ASML equipment. ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet said the company does not want to become a customer bottleneck. This year, ASML will invest about $2.2 billion in construction and equipment, about 20% more than in 2025, with new cleanrooms being built in the United States, Germany, and South Korea. At the same time, ASML invested €1.3 billion to become the largest shareholder in the French AI startup Mistral AI.
