Yesterday, the crypto market experienced another wave of liquidation, with the total liquidation amount reaching $383 million within 24 hours. I looked at the data, and the shorts were hit especially hard, with $256 million in short positions closed, while longs only accounted for $127 million.
Bitcoin and Ethereum also didn't escape, with BTC liquidations totaling $194 million and ETH nearly $100 million. The most outrageous was the BTC-USD trading pair on Hyperliquid, where a single liquidation reached $13.33 million. Almost 87k traders were liquidated within 24 hours across the entire market.
Looking at these numbers, shorts definitely took a hit. Such large-scale liquidations often trigger market volatility, so traders should pay more attention to risks and avoid getting caught up in the chaos.
