Recently, I noticed something interesting in the flows of crypto ETFs in the United States. It turns out that both the spot bitcoin ETFs and the spot ethereum ETFs recorded fairly significant outflows in a single day.
In the case of bitcoin, U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs saw about $349 million leave. Fidelity had the biggest outflow, with around $158 million, followed quite closely by BlackRock with approximately $143 million. The other funds also saw outflows, though more moderate.
But what caught my attention the most was the ethereum ETF. Yesterday, the spot ethereum ETF also recorded an outflow of nearly $83 million. Fidelity again led with around $67 million in outflows, while Grayscale Mini ETH had $6 million. BlackRock’s ethereum ETF also saw outflows, though smaller.
This combination of outflows across both products is something to keep an eye on. It appears that investors are moving out of these ETFs at the moment, at least according to the flow data.
