In the past, whenever I thought about cross-chain, I would get overwhelmed, feeling like it was just "press a button and it's done"; now that I've looked into it more, I realize that when transferring from chain A to chain B, essentially you're trusting a series of things: that chain A itself isn't malicious, how the message is packaged and proven, whether the relayers/validators are acting maliciously, how chain B verifies it, and most importantly—if any part in the middle gets stuck, are the assets just locked waiting for you, or could they be "spent first"?

This idea of IBC is more like "sending messages according to rules," but you still have to ask: who writes the light client/validation logic, who approves upgrades, can errors be rolled back... When it comes to bridges, I now prefer to go slow, avoid cross-chain if possible, and if I must, do small batch transfers—don't mind the hassle.
By the way, I’ve noticed recent extreme funding rates, and the community is arguing whether to reverse or continue squeezing the bubble; I personally don’t dare to tinker with cross-chain at this emotional peak—risks are piling up and it’s a bit scary, so I’ll leave it at that.
