The President of the United States (US) Donald Trump ordered the Navy (USN) to shoot and destroy any Iranian ships laying mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
"I have ordered the US Navy to shoot and destroy any ships, no matter how small, that lay mines in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz. There must be no doubt," Trump wrote via his Truth Social, Thursday (23/04).
Additionally, US mine-clearing ships are currently clearing the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said that 159 units have been destroyed and are at the bottom of the sea, and he also requested that this activity be done three times more often.
Furthermore, the US admits that its military has taken control of the Strait of Hormuz, which is being kept tightly closed until Iran can reach an agreement with the Trump Administration.
