Lunchtime TVL checks often encounter those moments of "just a quick refresh," and many times it's not that the protocol suddenly has issues... it's more like the data link is gasping for air: the indexer needs to move on-chain data into the database, and the Subgraph also has to wait for nodes to spit out data; plus, with RPC rate limiting, during peak times, requests pile up and get queued, making the page load appear choppy. Especially during the meme and celebrity pump phases, when attention shifts, on-chain interactions surge, and data delays become more noticeable. Newcomers who refresh every second can easily get frustrated, and veteran users' advice of "don't take the last step" makes me think we should first stop being fooled by fake real-time updates.

What I fear most isn't missing out on opportunities, but mistaking delays for trends and clicking recklessly.
